Job Description

Position Overview
Reporting to the Systems Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining and refurbishing all the components of the system equipment and associated wayside instrument equipment that is owned by our business. This work will include small installations and respond to breakdowns when required. 

Essential Job Functions
• Ensuring that equipment is maintained and calibrated to data sheets and/or manufacturer specifications
• Working in a professional and safe manner to ensure the maximum protection to oneself, co-workers and plant equipment and ensuring compliance to all relevant legislation
• Ensuring that the commitment to safety is maintained and enhanced by taking steps to identify and rectify hazards
• Minimizing maintenance costs through the diligent and effective use of company materials as well as by being innovative
• Ensuring production targets and qualities are reached and maintained by providing an up to date and ongoing service
• In the event of equipment failure, providing a maintenance service that will ensure quality repairs are carried out efficiently
• Works observing the health and safety policies of the Operation JV
• Works under the instruction of the Supervisor Signal and PS

Safety Responsibilities
• To comply with those elements of the COMPANY Rail DB environment, health and safety management system and other company documents where specific responsibility is identified with the role or as a general requirement on all employees

COMPANY Rail DB employees are responsible for: 
• Being aware of the current policies and procedures and their responsibilities for protecting corporate assets; 
• Using corporate resources only for intended purposes as defined by policies and procedures of COMPANY Rail;
• Being accountable for their actions relating to their use of all assets;
Desired Candidate Profile Desirable qualifications, skills and experience 

Academic Qualifications
• School certificate or equivalent

Professional Qualifications
• Driver License (Car and Heavy Vehicle) 
• Basic experience and qualification of electrical works (Professional) 
• Recognized training qualification

• Basic experience and qualification of electrical works 
• Be capable of learning about and maintaining the ERTMS / ETCS signaling, power supply and control system.

Other skills and abilities
• English as first language or advanced level of written and verbal skill
• Good planning skills
• Ability to work with people from a broad cross section
• Be capable of work in multi-cultural team
